WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST APPLE STRUDEL SMASHED AT APPLEFEST 08
517m OF STRUDEL BAKED, DISPLAYED AND EATEN!

The inaugural AppleFest event held in Hawke’s Bay weekend May 9 & 10 has been deemed a success by the event organisers.The world record for the longest apple strudel was smashed – Heinz Galler from Grains of Europe Bakery and the students from EIT created 517m of strudel, the previous record from Austria was 437m, the record now resides in Hawke’s Bay by a massive margin of 70m!
All AppleFest ticket holders were entitled to a slice of strudel with the remains sold by the Salvation Army as a fund raiser for their charity.
