The Southland Times Wednesday, 07 May 2008Making sure foreign workers who were employed under the Registered Seasonal Employment scheme were not exploited was important if the programme was to be successful, Associate Minister of Immigration Shane Jones said in Alexandra yesterday.
Mr Jones and Pacific Island Affairs Minister Winnie Laban visited Central Otago yesterday to meet some of the Vanuatu workers who were employed under the scheme, which allows foreign workers to work for short terms on orchards and vineyards.
